About the Huracan EVO Spyder
Convertible supercars usually ask for a compromise. The Huracan EVO Spyder asks for very little: the soft top folds in seventeen seconds and can be operated while rolling at up to 50 km/h, and the chassis retains the EVO's rear-wheel steering and torque-vectoring all-wheel drive with only a modest weight penalty over the coupe.
The reason to take the Spyder over the coupe is the engine note. A naturally aspirated V10 with no roof between you and the intake is a different instrument entirely — the induction noise that the coupe muffles becomes the dominant sound, and the upshift crack at 8,000 rpm is unfiltered. Lamborghini also fitted a rear window that lowers independently, so you can keep the roof up and still let the V10 into the cabin.
In Malaysian conditions the roof stays down at night and in the early morning, and goes up when the afternoon storm arrives. Air conditioning is genuinely effective with the roof down at speed, and the electric wind guard keeps conversation possible. Storage is the same single front compartment as the coupe.
