About the 911 GT3
The GT3 is the 911 built by Porsche's motorsport department, and the 992 version made the largest single change in the model's history: the front suspension is now double-wishbone, taken directly from the 911 RSR endurance racer, replacing the MacPherson struts every road 911 has used since 1963.
The engine remains naturally aspirated — a 4.0-litre flat-six with individual throttle bodies, a 9,000 rpm redline and 510 PS produced right at the top. There is no turbocharger to blur the response and no torque plateau; the car demands revs and rewards them with a noise that is arguably the finest of any current production engine.
The swan-neck rear wing mounts from above so the airflow under it is undisturbed, and the whole aerodynamic package generates 150 percent more downforce than the previous GT3. It is a track car with a number plate, and it is priced and booked as one.
Turbo supplies the GT3 with an extended handover briefing. Best appreciated at a Sepang track day or an early Karak run.
