About the M4 Competition
The G82 M4 Competition produces 510 PS and 650 Nm from the S58 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline-six — a closed-deck block with a 3D-printed cylinder head core, allowing internal cooling passages that could not be cast conventionally.
The chassis received extensive additional bracing over the standard 4 Series, including a strut brace and reinforced rear subframe mounts, and the car uses an Active M Differential with fully variable locking. Ten-stage M Traction Control lets the driver dial in exactly how much slip is permitted.
The large vertical grille has been the most-discussed element of the design since launch. Whatever your view, the car underneath is the most capable M4 BMW has built, and the carbon fibre roof and optional carbon bucket seats cut meaningful weight.
