About the Civic Type R
The FL5 Type R held the front-wheel-drive lap record at the Nurburgring, which is remarkable for a car that also functions as an ordinary five-door hatchback. The engineering that makes it possible is the dual-axis front suspension, which separates the steering axis from the damper axis and almost eliminates torque steer under full power.
The 2.0-litre turbocharged four produces 330 PS and 420 Nm through a six-speed manual — Honda offers no automatic, deliberately — with a rev-matching function that can be switched off. A helical limited-slip differential handles traction.
Honda toned down the previous generation's aerodynamic addenda considerably, and the FL5 is a much more restrained-looking car while producing more downforce. The +R mode stiffens the adaptive dampers and sharpens throttle response substantially.
Turbo delivers the Civic Type R across Greater Kuala Lumpur. Manual transmission; please confirm driver familiarity at booking.
