About the AMG GLC 43
The GLC 43 sits between the standard cars and the full AMG 63 models, and for road use it is arguably the better judged of the two. Its 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 produces 390 PS and 520 Nm, reaching 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, with AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive biased 31:69 rearward.
AMG fitted its own steering knuckles, stiffer springs, three-stage adaptive dampers and a considerably more vocal exhaust with a valve control system. The nine-speed gearbox uses a wet clutch instead of a torque converter for faster shifts.
The result is a mid-size SUV that will keep pace with sports saloons while retaining the boot, the seats and the visibility that made you consider an SUV in the first place.
