About the Cooper
The modern MINI is considerably larger than the 1959 original, but BMW preserved the essential characteristic: extremely quick steering, a short wheelbase, and wheels pushed right into the corners of the body. The result is a car that changes direction with an immediacy nothing else at this price matches.
The Cooper S uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four producing 192 PS and 280 Nm, reaching 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. The exhaust pops and crackles on overrun in Sport mode, which is entirely engineered and entirely enjoyable.
The interior is heavily styled — a large circular central display, toggle switches, and configurable ambient lighting rings — and the rear seats are small but present. As a rental it works for city driving where character matters more than space.
Turbo delivers the MINI Cooper S across Greater Kuala Lumpur.
