About the Alphard Executive Lounge
Executive Lounge is the highest Alphard trim, and it is a materially different vehicle from a standard car. The second row becomes two full reclining lounge seats with extending ottomans, heating, ventilation and massage, separated from the front by a partition with a retractable screen and controlled from a dedicated touch panel in the armrest.
The current generation moved to a 2.4-litre turbocharged four producing 279 PS and 430 Nm through an eight-speed automatic — a substantial upgrade over the naturally aspirated 2.5, and enough to make the car genuinely brisk despite its mass.
Toyota also comprehensively re-engineered the body structure and suspension for this generation, and the improvement in ride and noise isolation over the previous car is immediately obvious from the rear seat.
