About the S 580e
The S 580e pairs the 3.0-litre inline-six with a 150 PS electric motor integrated into the transmission and a 28 kWh battery, which is unusually large for a plug-in hybrid. The result is a genuine electric range in the region of a hundred kilometres — enough that most Klang Valley journeys can be completed without the engine starting at all.
Driven as an electric car it is the quietest S-Class made. Driven with the engine it produces 510 PS combined. The transition between the two is close to undetectable, and the navigation system pre-conditions the drivetrain using route data so the battery is used where it does most good.
Everything else is standard W223: rear-axle steering, multi-chamber air suspension, the OLED display, and the option of executive rear seating.
Turbo delivers the S 580e with or without chauffeur. Charging arrangements are confirmed at booking.
